VNC (Virtual Network Computing) is a great way to control your raspberry pi remote from your Linux-PC. In this quick tip we are only using Linux on board tools. Benefits of a vnc connection: You don’t need to plug-in: keyboard, display or mouse.
Connect via SSH or open a terminal session directly on the raspberry. You don’t know how to get a ssh connection working?-Check out this article?
Install tightvncserver. You can do this by easily typing in the following prompt.
sudo apt-get install tightvncserver
Start you VNC-Server by typing in PI’s Terminal.
vncserver :3 -geometry 1280x800 -depth 24
This prompt also sets the resolution to the one of your PC.
Now you need to set a password, which we will need later. (In this example we will set it to: 12345678)
Verify your password.
You will be asked if you would like to set a view-only password.
Open up Remmina.
Server: YOUR-IP:590 + The Number you got In the step before. In my case 192.168.2.102:5903
You will be asked for the password you set in Step 4. In our case: 12345678. Select Connect.
et voilá…All you have to do now is admire your result:-)
